Saturday 2:00pm: Smiths 1st XV vs Frampton Cotterell (Round 7)

Smiths 1st XV face unbeaten Frampton Cotterell as the two top of the table teams meet in the Counties 2 Gloucestershire league for the first time in a match that could be decisive in the title race. With just one win separating the top five, every point matters. A victory here would be a huge statement for Smiths’ promotion ambitions.

A Message from Head Coach Ben Parker:

“This weekend is shaping up to be one of the biggest of the season for the club, with two huge back-to-back fixtures on Saturday. We’re calling on everyone to pack out the Prince of Wales Stadium and get behind the lads — your support makes all the difference.

Ben went on to say:

These are the moments we play this incredible game for. Weekends like this test us, challenge us, and show us exactly where we stand. If we bring the right effort, attitude, and intensity, the results will take care of themselves. Let’s make it one to remember. See you at the Prince of Wales!”

Saturday 4:00pm: Smiths United vs Longlevens 2nd XV (Round 4)

Smiths United take on unbeaten league leaders, Longlevens 2nd XV in Round 4 of Counties 4 Gloucestershire North league. Backed by a senior squad playing two leagues above, Longlevens 2s have set the pace all season. But United arrive full of confidence after a gritty win over Minchinhampton and a 50-point demolition of Cheltenham Civil Service. With home advantage and supporters behind them, this could be the weekend the lads make a statement on the league.

Captain Joe Hemming says:

We’re really excited to take on another big challenge this weekend, facing top-of-the-table Longlevens 2s. It’s a great opportunity to show how far the club has come, and there’s nothing better than running out in front of a home crowd straight after our 1st XV — we can’t wait to give the supporters a performance to cheer!

In the third league fixture of the weekend, Smiths U15s are pit against Stroud U15 on Sunday. The teams have been closely matched this season, promising another nail-biter. Supporters can expect skill, intensity, and a battle for every point as the young Smiths aim to climb the table.
